Outreach Ministry

Network Of Prayer

This Ministry prays for those who request prayers. It is open to anyone who chooses to be on the prayer list to receive prayers, or has a request for prayer for someone else, or an intention. This ministry is also open to anyone who wishes to join those who pray. The Network of Prayer forwards the prayer request to the volunteer network team via phone or email. The volunteer team commits to praying for that person or intention according to the request. If you would like to have the network pray for you and/or your intention, or would like to add your name to the group who prays, please call or text Nancy Brodbeck at 513-378-7872 or email nbrodbeck@fuse.net.

Rosary Makers

Cord/wire rosaries are hand-made and distributed to various mission stations in this country and overseas. Rosaries are made available to churches and hospitals. The goal is to promote devotion to the Blessed Mother and her Son. Meetings are held once a month. Rosaries are made mostly at our leisure time in our homes. This ministry is partially supported by donations and partially by making handmade ornate rosaries that are sold in the area.

Social Action Committee

This Committee works with the Social Action Commission of the Archdiocese and AMOS project to address social justice concerns such as parish life, health care and nutrition, climate change, jobs, foreclosures and immigration reform.

St. Vincent de Paul Society

SVDP assists families living within the boundaries of St. Vivian Parish that need help paying their utility bills or rent. Sometimes we advise on ways to economize and reduce expenses. We also provide food and clothing vouchers if requested. This ministry collects donated food, toiletries, cleaning products, paper products, and baby supplies at our monthly food drive for our St. Vincent de Paul Conference. Time commitment is 30 minutes after the 9:30 Mass on the first Sunday of the month. Two or three volunteers are needed for each monthly collection. Volunteers sort and box donated items. There is one meeting per month lasting about two hours. Members are assigned clients, and a home interview is required to assess need and determine amount of help available. For St. Vincent de Paul requests, please contact the parish office (513-728-4331).

Welcome Home Ministry

The Welcome Home Ministry consists of St. Vivian parish volunteers who provide support to new parishioners and inactive Catholics wishing to return to the practice of their faith. There are two prongs of this ministry: to compassionately communicate with returning Catholics about their faith in a supportive environment where they are comfortable expressing their opinions, and to make personal visits and telephone calls and distribute welcome packets to new parish members.

Such gestures provide both a sense of comfort in joining the parish and an opportunity to learn about the many parish spiritual, social, athletic and school activities, and ministry opportunities. Volunteers with a friendly disposition are being sought. We all have unique faith stories that we can share.  Come join our ministry and help us provide that listening ear that can reassure returning Catholics that we want them to come home. Please contact the parish office if you are interested in helping with this ministry.
